AIMS:
Carers give so much to society yet as a consequence of caring, they experience ill health, poverty and discrimination.
Your participation in this course will inform your work with carers, and provide the means to redress this inequality
This introductory course has been designed to provide health, social work and voluntary sector practitioners with an understanding of the benefits available to carers and to the people they care for.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
On completion of the course the participant will be able to:
- Recognise the main benefits available to carers.
- Identify which carers may be entitled to carers’ Allowance and/or the Carer premium.
- Demonstrate knowledge of when a claim for Carers’ Allowance would affect the benefits, which the person being cared for is receiving.
A very practical interactive full days training which will enhance and provide participants with a sound knowledge base from which to support carers.
